Family vs. Defendant Motorist - $238,750 recovered for non-surgical car accident injuries

Morning collision leaves grandmother with four broken ribs; defense disputes severity of crash.

During morning rush hour, a local family’s vehicle was struck by defendant driver as he attempted to blitz across Martin Luther King Jr. Way.  The family’s vehicle was deflected by the impact and careened into a light pole.  Most of the family members required little to no medical care.  However, the 70 year old grandmother suffered four broken ribs.  After a short stay at Highland Hospital, she was discharged back into the care of her family.

CK&C worked through unique challenges to push this case towards a fast and meaningful settlement.  The grandmother did not speak English, lived in a different country, and faced her injuries stoically.  And the defense attempted to minimize the severity of the collision by pointing out the remaining family members’ relative lack of injuries.  Despite this, the firm worked patiently with her to get a complete grasp of her injuries and present them to the defense.  Once the defense understood the true extent of her pain and suffering, CK&C was able to negotiate this excellent result for the family.
